Gosh, sorry for the long hiatus from this space. September has unconsciously creeped its way into my list of hectic months in 2014 (thus far). With school falling into place and eating up my brain cells every alternate days, dance practices in preparation for the various performances, weekly driving lessons, my Sundays work commitment as well as the numerous to and fro trips across the border, I really don't know how a lazy person like me managed to pull through this month. But, I'm still alive and kicking!! So here's what. I'll just fill you guys up a little on my life (of the more significant events at least). Where should I even start with all the visuals vomit..
On teachers' day, I went back to new town with elaine and tonny!! Mostly just for the food though. Whoops. I've missed you so much meatballs and popcorn chicken. Pity our favourite stall aunty didn't cook tom yum soup that day!!! /but i will be back/

Always good to see old faces xx

I joined my aunty's family on a trip to visit gramps back in Malaysia over one of the weekend and it was by far one of the best decision I've made this year. Missed a day worth of lectures and felt quite like a lost sheep when I went back to school the week after but it was worth it. I missed gramps so much. I really loathe the fact that he stays alone in our old house but on the brighter side, at least he's happy the way it is. Side note, road trips with the little one are always so intriguing. He said the most silly words and asked the most random questions throughout the ride it seriously cracked everyone in the car up.
"are we there yet?" when it was barely 30 minutes into the car ride. / "papa, where did the letter C come from?" / "i'd like to play with my soccer ball" / "where does A belong?" / "i am happy because i enjoyed myself today and also because jiejie (his primary 5 sister) cried" oh god i really can't figure out what's going on in that little brain of his. / "can we listen to the song 'last christmas' on the radio please?" / "jiejie, my favourite song is 25 minutes" it's by Michael Jackson in case you're as clueless as me.
This trip home, we did something out of the usual and went trekking. The official name of the place is Taman Negara, which means National Park when translated but obviously it doesn't look like one. It was clearly a forest to me. We had to take a speed boat in order to go for the Canopy Walk on the other side and guess who got all wet when another speed boat coming from the opposite direction sped passed our boat? Me. I would like to think it was an adventurous day for someone who doesn't even exercise (unless dancing counts ha). On day 4, while enroute back to Singapore, we stopped by a relative's place in kl and stayed over for a night.
In sum, this trip back home has been nothing short of therapeutic. It wasn't much but I really needed a break, and time off school/life/everything to spend with my extended paternal family. Seriously looking forward to the next road trip already.
Okay, visuals vomit part 1.

On one of the Saturday, the girls and I booked 2 flea booths at Lucky Plaza and went on mission-rescue-our-wardrobes. The Saturday crowd wasn't as favourable compared to Sunday's one but overall, it wasn't too bad. Most of us managed to clear 80-90% of our clothes yaaaas kaching kaching ($_$)
Rushed off for my aunt's belated birthday dinner with the fambam after the flea. We had buffet at Todai at Marina Bay Sands and the spread was scrumptious. I'd go back for the crab and baked oyster (if someone gives me a treat anyone *hint hint*)

The Sunday R left for Thailand, for another 16 days sigh pie what is this love-hate relationship with him being in the army really. Thank god for sneaky +66 phone calls I've been receiving from the boy. WISH YOU WERE HERE BAO.

Some relatives (my second aunt and her children) and friends came over to visit from Malaysia last week so we spent a little time together over dinner/supper/beer. Family time is always good ♡ p.s. went on the GMAX ride at Clarke Quay and it was craaaay

Tj's Specialist Cadet Graduation Parade on the 26th sept. I think I might be a little overly-obsessed with hearing an entire army cohort shout together "with my life" with so much affirmation (if you get what i mean). Sometimes it's really hard to digest the fact that our boys are seriously all in the army training to serve and even protect the nation one day when just a few months back, they were still acting all retarded and childish in school.

nora and i seriously needs to stop acting like lesbian partners alll the time lol

SIM's open house performance by the juniors for the second batch of student intake. We danced a short choreography to one of the song from the movie/musical Hairspray. Think upbeat and loads of happiness (with sass?). Speak of dance, I'm actually pretty psyched about starting a whole new journey with DanceArt. Anticipating all the workshops and camp already!

Had a mini b&h reunion (missing: amelia) after the open house hehe thanks for coming down to SIM to show some love guys (EVEN THOUGH ALL YOU BIJES WERE LATE, i'd like to think that it's really the thoughts that count). Anyway, finally tried the highly-raved about Sunday Folks at holland village with this bunch after missing out on it the first time R and I went because the place was so bustled with people on a Saturday night?! I picked earl grey flavour served with waffles and well the final verdict is... yes it was tasty!! Or maybe the fact that I was starving made the waffles tasted extra good. Um, I think the visual of food really matters a hell lot too? Still, given a choice at any juncture, I would pick lychee martini ice cream as my staple because #DAILYSCOOP5EVER. Right, visuals vomit (or more like diarrhoea in this case?) part 3.

will somebody call Vogue already????????????

Just gonna end all the visuals with a few other random school/life snaps over the weeks. It may seem that I've been eating a lot but in all honesty, school is actually messing up with my eating hours, big time. What's with all the half an hour breaks in between 3 hour lectures and having to fight for seats with what seems like the entire school cohort. I basically end up consuming food at any timings possible on school days. Time to start working on em' food-life balance.

I can't stand to think 2014 is passing by so quickly. September has been a relatively very busy and overwhelming month for me but it's definitely also a month of comfort — traveling to places and spending time with a bundle of familiar faces. Think I will throw aside all my complains for now.
