TO HAVE OR NOT TO HAVE

I just attended my first birthday bash of the year and it served as a gentle reminder that I am likewise turning 21 in less than three months!!! I've been debating with myself on whether I should hold a celebration because now is only the right time to start planning if I seriously decide to have one. I know most people have a major party on their 21st birthday but...the thought of organising a party from scratch turns me off a little to be very honest. From coming up with a theme to racking my brains on who to invite to actually setting up/decorating the place itself, urgh, too much brain juice and manual labour required. Of course I know R and some of my friends would kindly render some help but still, I'm not sure where to even start. The only reason I might want to have a party is the idea of having a pretty damn fancybulous (uh yes I made this word up) birthday cake and um, maybe all the extravagant gifts HAHAHA CALL ME REALISTIC BUT WHAT SIN IS THERE FOR A GIRL TO LOVE RECEIVING PRESENTS RIGHT?! *nods fervently*

Another thing that I personally dislike (not really dislike, but rather, refuse to do) is having to host and go around entertaining all the attendees. It's MY party, I just want to be able to sit down, eat and look pretty, or maybe not so while I chomp down food. But then again, I'd love the idea of having all my friends and family gather since it's a special occasion for me. CAN ANYONE FEEL ME YET OMG. I am so torn between wanting a party whereby all the people I love come together to celebrate with me and having all the different cliques simply sticking to themselves then what is the point?

So much dilemma right here, but looking at all the recent posts/pictures of birthday parties and how everything is so nicely done up makes me feel very motivated and tempted to plan one. My initial idea was simply to hang out with different groups of people on separate days and that's that. Now, hmmmm we'll see.
