WHAAAAAAT IT'S APRIL ALREADY? HOLY. I almost thought the date itself was an April's Fool joke but I guess not.
Countdown to finals: 35 days (time to get my shit together)
On a lighter note, road tripped back to Pahang with daddy's side of the family for our annual Qing Ming prayers last weekend. Being back at motherland on a yearly basis makes me feel so much more attached to the place than I expected myself to be. Growing up under the care of my grandparents for just the first 5 years of my life before my parents brought me to Singapore, I'm amazed that I still remember quite clearly certain happenings. The thing is when you're 3 or 4 years old and somethings happen, you usually won't and can't recall them when you grow up. But I feel that there are moments stuck in me and they resurface in my mind out of the blue every now and then. It's like déjà vu.
The whole car ride was 6 hours long and the entire journey back actually went up to almost 9 hours due to all the stops in between for our meals and a few toilet breaks. When I was younger, I used to whine about how my butt and legs would ache from the long hours of sitting. Thank God that phase has passed. What doesn't really change is that every time my dad steps on the accelerator and attempt to overtake a vehicle before ours, I feel as if my heart will jump out from my mouth. Other than that, I now really enjoy plugging my earphones in and staring out the window at clouds and trees altogether. Or even jamming to Canto songs with my old man like we totally own it.

I love how every year when we return to the old house, everyone sleeps together in the living room on mattresses and then the next morning we would wake up complaining about how cold the air con was the previous night without fail

My dad's elder brother drove back in his highlander and I got a little excited cos I've never rode in one before hahaha whut?

7am ride up mountain roads at the back of the truck(?) with cold wind blowing in our faces. It felt like what you know? Like in Twilight, when the vampires were standing on top of the truck heading to I don't know where.

View you definitely won't get to see in sg

It's a bad quality photo taken with the iPhone's front camera, but heart warming one nonetheless. Here's yeye with all 4 of his children!!!!
