Overdue pictures: Sentosa '14

—

I got reminded of the existence of these pictures after sending 1/6 of us off at the airport 3 days ago. We bid farewell to ZY as he left for Taiwan on an army deployment for the next 365 days. One year really isn't that long a period of time but on second thoughts, it's not exactly short either. It's not a permanent departure but why does it always feel surreal whenever we're sending someone away from us. This has gotta be the hate part within the love-hate feels of being at the airport! But on a lighter note, am quite happy for our (not quite a) fatty (anymore). Bye bye loo!

Is it belated Christmas or advanced Chinese New Year gathering?

Um, doesn't the title says it all? Can't decide if this meet up is more apt to be deemed as one that came a little too late or one that's better late than never. Whatever it is, I guess it's true to a certain extent when they say distance makes the heart grow fonder, erm certainly not in a romantic way with this bunch but yeah... Lately, I simply treasure the times I spent with people I no longer see very often even more.

"When you’re holding hands with someone and they rub your thumb with their thumb is what I live for."

Hola! Almost the end of week 3/52 and here's what went down over the weekend for me, or more like, for him. First thing first, my boy commissioned! And I felt like the proudest girl alive on that particular day to be very honest. Boy if you were to accumulate all of the things I've said to you on a daily basis over the past six months, it'd be exactly everything I want you to know in a nutshell — you survived, we survived. Even though I know with that crazy determination of yours, you would have pulled through anyway, I still feel an immense wave of euphoria for you.

Um, please also know that we (your mom, dad, sis and I) still hold a very great amount of love for you even though throughout the entire one hour parade, we stared/cheered/waved vigorously at the wrong guy hahahaha. To think we still had so much -double confirm plus chop- confidence that THAT was you.

what happens when your boyfriend's sister make you both kiss so that she can take an adorable picture, in front of a bunch of officers.

Right, so the following day was the commissioning ball at RWS. I went for karaoke with R and his family and ended up going to sleep at 4:00am the night before, so I felt like a total bed potato the moment I opened my eyes on Sunday. But then again, it's not everyday you get to put on a fancy gown and wear heels that make you feel like Cinderella AND also ogle at your man donned in suit so I made myself roll out of bed despite all the laziness in me. And I had a good experience at comms ball!

This is all the more why I feel touched by all your little acts of love. Congratulations to you once again my occifer, I am very very proud of you *salutes*
