Haven't seen this group (minus loo & nora who are currently overseas) in forever!!! We met for dinner at Newton Circus on Friday. It's intimidating how dinner talks have evolved from all the teenage issues into serious plans about the future and what not. It's like everyone is just moving and moving and moving forward so quickly because time simply does not allow you to slow down. It also made me learn that everything at 16 or 18 was no freaking big deal, even if I thought otherwise then. I never anticipate hitting the big 2 would indicate so much change but at least they're all good change so far.

After meeting with them, I feel like some things are different, not in a bad way of course. Three years ago, if you ask me, I'd say I was the most quiet one among the 6 of us. Maybe I still am hahaha but point is, I think it took me some time to really open up to you guys in/after JC. At first it feels like we have really different personalities (I mean we do have), but after awhile I realise that putting my guards down was a much easier deal. One of the best feeling in the world is having solid conversations over good food.

Same goes with this one. I love how some days we can behave goofy as hell and talk about stupid shit but then also end up discussing serious stuff. It scares me a little when you share with me what you've planned out for your future, and that I am a part of it. Nerves aside, I am super thankful because you are reassuring in so many ways. These little, unexpected moments remind me that we are in this together hehe. To big dreams baby!

P.s. someone is no longer a brace-face and I am lovin' it *heart eyes emoji*

As it turns out, post-exams life has been tremendously mundane. I have been so much of a lazybones for the past two and a half weeks that it finally hit me it's time to get my lazy ass back to work. It came as a surprise that after such a long break and all that getting used to not having to wake up at an unearthly hour (yes 7AM is very early for me) for work, I actually cannot wait to go back to Berries to soak in happiness and not to mention, tons of cuteness. Keeping my fingers crossed that the kiddos remember their assistant teacher who disappeared for eight weeks.

More on life. Apart from attending dance rehearsals every Tuesday & Thursday nights and on Saturdays, I would like to emphasise that I do not really have a life (so much contradiction ha ha). My spare time are usually 1) spent with R and my family or 2) spent being a couch potato or 3) spent reading which usually ends up with a nap on the couch. You get the drift right —couch potato. I figured out it's about time all these hibernating end so.. it's back to work next week hopefully!

Here are some random snippets from June so far. One of the more recent happening was celebrating momma's birthday in advance at Teo Heng karaoke where I sang my hearts out, to everyone's poor eardrums content.

You ask who's my favourite ice-cream date?

Stay home day pasting pictures on the wall and fooling around with this little one

Attended a first aid course with the exco for dance. It was quite epic because we had to be evaluated individually at the end of the course, which means that yes, all that CPR stuff had to be done without us all breaking into gales of laughter. Considering the stress free situation we were in, it could be accomplished easily. But now that I think about it, it takes a lot of courage to remain calm should an emergency really happen to someone around me one day.

Yes I know these pictures are totally irrelevant to first aid but....

I think our brain might need first aid hahahaha

One more reason to add on to why I should go back to work. S h o p p i n g  needs and GSS is not helping to stop me at all.

In case we look too loving, there are also days where my boy roll his eyes at me/ shoot me death stare (but still give in and force a smile for 2 seconds when his annoying girlfriend asks him to) haha epitome of love-hate relationship?

Humanity

Found this post chucked under 'drafts' from sometime ago. Not sure why I didn't publish it but I probably typed halfway and forgot all about it. So here's what:

What does the word humanity actually makes you think of? Is it simply being human, being yourself? If so, then I really wonder what exactly does being human encompass...

I came across a couple of news online lately and it just agitates me to know that an increasing amount of people are abandoning their parents these days. And it is VERY infuriating to read or look at pictures. Each time a new article pops up, it leaves me so perplexed having to imagine that people actually have the heart to leave their parents sleeping on benches out there in parks, or just do the slightest thing that could be deemed as acts of being unfilial. Everyday I wake up, I'm just super thankful for not just my parents but also my extended family so I really don't get how anyone can bottle up such ill feelings towards his/her family members.

In this aspect, I think I really got to look up to my own mom and aunt. Not sure if it's because the both of them are the only two daughters out of ten children that my grandmother has, I feel that these 2 women are so full of love for my granny it certainly does not pales in comparison to my other 8 uncles. In the past, the older generations had this belief that bearing sons triumphs bearing daughters. Really, China Studies in jc (lol) has proven that this may be true to some extent but probably not anymore in this time and day. Of course, some still have such thoughts now but I certainly think otherwise. Every time I see my ladies showing such relentless love and concern for the fambam, it makes me want to look up to them even more.

I hope one day I'd look back at this list and live by it (be it for now or in the near future):

1/ always make time for my parents no matter how busy I am, with school/work/bf/life

2/ give them the allowance they deserve when I am capable of doing so

3/ bring them out for family dinner on weekends

4/ go traveling with them (also when I am financially stable)

5/ they are going to grow old and become weak, do not ever find them a hassle

6/ they are going to nag, but keep in mind it's just a part of being old

7/ love them unconditionally just like how they did before I was even capable of holding my own milk bottle

It's very silly but I really wish that growing old isn't a part of growing up.

Pulau Ubin (in film)

I don't really have much of a life as of late, even though I'm supposedly on holidays, so here are the developed films (finally!!) I collected last week. If you're Facebook friends with me then this set of photos probably aren't fresh to your eyes but aaah can I just say that looking at them again makes me feel like I'm in love all over again.

The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time

The only cutie who can make me wake up early enough for market duties without me feeling groggy as hell. I wish the 5 days back at granny's house didn't pass by so quickly. I think it's the only time I don't feel guilty sleeping at 3/4am, binging on chocolates & snacks and spending my days doing absolutely NOTHING productive.
