WEIGHTLIFTING FAIRY KIM BOK JOO

KPOP RUINS LIFE omo I'm having some serious withdrawal symptoms from one of the loveliest drama I've watched in a long long time. WFKBJ has been such a great stress reliever for me amidst this crazy mugging period for finals. Instead of binge watching, everyday I give myself an hour break from studying to watch 1 episode. It's like a reward for being on track, and a motivation for me at the same time. I can now understand why this drama was a hit among so many (I've heard and read good reviews from either my friends or the Internet before finally starting on this show) and I've #NOREGRETS only except now there is nothing for me to look forward to anymore. Please give me a minute while I sob my heart out. Why does this happen EVERY SINGLE TIME I finish watching a drama that I truly enjoy...?!

5:28 - 5:38 is one of my favourite scene of the entire drama because Nam Joo Hyuk's eyes sparkle as he speak "Bok Joo ya~ if I get a gold medal this time, shall we get married?" kyaaaa brb I'm dying. Thank God for such a light-hearted and relatable high school drama, as well as the 2 main leads' chemistry!!!

My current obsession is this sound track from the drama

Can we also just have a moment to take in how hilarious this comment is "THE CUTEST OST FOR THE CUTEST SHOW!!! MY ACNE IS CLEARED THE SKY IS BRIGHT THE STARS ARE SHINING THERE IS WORLD PEACE" HAHAHAHAHAHAHA I CANNOT EVEN

NO PLACE LIKE HOME

Guess who shifted house over the weekend? Ah I can't quite describe this feeling but to put it simply, it feels nice being all settled into the new place. Meanwhile, my mom and I are getting ourselves accustomed to the bus routes in the new hood, and really just trying our best not to get stranded at god knows where. Only first week in, I've already ran into familiar faces near my house (that's how small Singapore is!) Some pictures to document down this memory of our house while everything is still nice and neat.

Here's the view when you first open the main door and step into the house

Once you enter the main door, on its left is the kitchen (a.k.a my mother's obsession) and service yard. On the right, is the bomb shelter/ storage area; also where our built-in shoe rack stands

View when I sit on the couch, facing me is my parent's room and mine is on the right.
Directly opposite my bedroom is the common bathroom.

How the dining area looks like at night when we turn off all the lights in the house except for the hanging lamp

This corner is my favourite hideout for now *heart eyes emoji* especially when night falls, or when I turn on the bed side lamp (that R bought me for my birthday!!!) right before I go to sleep. The light is a very warm shade of orange and together with the air conditioning, it does makes me want to nestle in my blankets, forever if I may.

And the furry IKEA rug too asdfghjkl it's so soft my feet can't get enough!

My view every morning from now onwards. This was taken on the second day after we shifted and it felt surreal because I HAVE MY OWN ROOM AGAIN AFTER... 12 YEARS? After my parents separated when I was in primary school, I started sleeping with my mom ever since, so can I just say I've gotten so used to having her (sometimes gently snoring/ breathing) by my side for the past years that it feels odd sleeping alone all of a sudden. Nevertheless, I am definitely taking pleasure in having some privacy to myself and also, hur hur hur, sleeping in unglamorous positions and NOBODY GETS HURT.

Friends who've been to my old house would know that this new place is clearly smaller, probably only 1/2 the size of my old house but I ain't complaining. I think the space is just right for my family of three and overall, it gives us the feeling of comfort which is what truly matters. For now, our white walls are still looking a little bare and we can't wait to find the right pieces to hang up.

One of the things I love the most about our home is the abundance of sunlight we get in the day, which helps in giving the illusion that the house is more spacious than it is. Also, since we are located on a lower level, we are greeted with greenery every time we look out our windows, . Now I think I can do that study-for-50-minutes-and-gaze-out-of-the-window-for-40-seconds thing. Trees please bless me with better eyesight thanks.

TURNING.... TWENTY 2

It must be true that with age, comes the lack of hype to celebrate birthdays aha! My actual birthday this year felt like a pretty normal day for me. I had dinner with my momma and that was about it. Instead, I had a belated birthday lunch with the boyfriend at Salt grill & Sky bar, which is located on the 55th level at Ion Orchard. We were the first! customers to arrive and I must say, for a brief moment, it was as if my boyfriend booked the entire restaurant for me ha ha ha until other patrons started appearing.

I'm the luckiest to be always getting pampered by this one.

For our entrée, we chose scallop (for me) and sashimi (for him). They were sooooo fresh and delicious. Also, we were served with some bread to dip with olive oil and nuts, as well as sweet potato chips which were definitely all 10/10.

For the main dish, we could choose between poultry, steak, pork, snapper and this other potato dish. Being the carnivores we are, we both went for steak cooked to medium well and... we were sold. I don't think I can ever find the right vocab to describe the immense sense of euphoria food brings to us.

And here's lunch with a view!

After lunch, we window shopped for a bit to allow our food to digest. Initially, R was like "eh baby, if we're still hungry later, we can go eat McDonald's for round 2" due to the relatively small portion of food served to us. Little did we know that entrée + main course + fries to share + dessert = a substantial amount of food going into our stomach, and we ended up being quite bloated. We left for my house after some walking as I had to give tuition (yes I started giving Chinese tuition to a primary 4 kid recently and it's so far so good) while the pig got his 2 hours nap.

At night, we went to check out the i-light exhibition at Marina Bay and ummm I think it is crazily over-rated? I thought the night view, accompanied with sky scrapers was even more spectacular. The Uncle Ringo Carnival served as a good bonding time for my family though hehe.

The only picture from snapchat I took at the carnival with my mom because my family was too busy giving away money at the game booths. Don't get me started on the food *throws stacks of money into the air*

TAKE MY MONEY, TAOBAO

I just wanted to show off some of the ridiculously adorable things I will be purchasing through ezbuy's Prime account (yay to only $2.99 shipping fee). As the renovation for our new place is slowly coming together, it's about time  my mom and  I start sourcing for all the home necessities and what not. I still remember how I was telling my mom that the progress of the renovation was kinda slow but as soon as we gave our Interior Designer the go ahead after many rounds of yes and no's, things pretty much went bam bam bam. Popped by the house on one of the days and saw the contractors working hard. Thank you uncles. Now it's only a matter of weeks before we move into our cosy little abode.

The thing about buying a new EMPTY house is the trade off between being able to start off from a blank canvas and having too damn many things to buy i.e. from the tiniest household item like toothpicks to bulky furnitures. Nonetheless, after all the (way too many) trips to IKEA, hardware and lighting stores etc, we have more or less settled on the main things we need. As for the other daily essentials, I guess it'll take awhile before we fill the house up with them. Excited to turn our house into our home.

Long story short, check out my cute buys!!!!! Especially the set of toiletries omg *heart eyes emoji*
